Who wereThe Ardels?

Started in 1963 in Etobicoke (Toronto), Ontario, Canada the original Ardels were Gary Brennan (drums), David Burt (piano), Fred Masson (bass), Bruce Saracini (vocals) and Robin Scott (guitar). Within a few months of forming Robin, who was continuing his education, was replaced on guitar by Jim Pernokis and Doug Dixon joined to replace Bruce on lead vocals.

As the popularity of the young group started to grow they were joined by Bob McKay on tenor sax, filling out the first Ardels lineup.

Later...

Over their first two years The Ardels produced their first indie single (Comin' Down b/w So Glad You're Mine) at Hallmark Studios in Toronto as well as a full-length album recorded at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
After recording the single and album Fred left the group and was replaced by Roger Charlesworth on bass. Roger is heard on all the subsequent Ardels recordings.

In 1988 four of the originals (Jimmy, Doug, Fred and Russ Crerar - who had been the backup Ardels drummer) reformed as PASTIME - Canada's Nostalgia Group. You can see streaming video and get tons of streaming and downloadable music from them right here.
